The philosophy of the PADI Underwater Navigation Specialty is to focus on fun and challenging underwater navigation dives with an emphasis on safety, therefore, the goal of this course is to teach student divers a systematic, methodical approach to enjoying underwater navigation. Student divers will develop the techniques involved in navigating underwater within recreational limits and while avoiding disturbing delicate marine life.

The best way to learn underwater navigation procedures and to apply them is by doing it. This course therefore, expands student diver knowledge about environmental clues that help them to navigate, how to use a compass for precision, patterns that aid navigation, navigational instruments and how to interact responsibly with the aquatic life they’ll see while navigating underwater.

This course can count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating

The Pisces diving centre in Fishoek/Simonstown is a great option for anyone looking for a Scuba experience around Cape Town. The staff are experienced, friendly and very knowledgeable. The centre has its own pool, so they will be able to help get you started on your Scuba journey if you are new to the activity. If you don't have your own gear, don't fret: they have you covered! The water might be freezing, but this PADI centre definitely showed up and represented by showcasing just how fire things can get in the Atlantic. PS. Free coffee included. Have fun y'all 😉

Pisces Divers went above and beyond for me yesterday. I signed up for the seal and kelp forest boat dives and missed the email saying it had been cancelled because of the weather. When I got there, they found a dive guide who was willing to come in and take me on a shore dive. We looked at two dive sites and decided to dive in the marina, which was a great time and very colorful. When I tried to get an uber back into the city but none were available, they even drove me to Fish Hoek so I could get transportation. I would dive again with them in a heartbeat.

What an awesome day with Trystan!! He was so nice and a very skillful diver with a lot of experience who was always watching out for us… constantly keeping eye to make sure we were all together, helping with equipment issues and so on. Such a pleasure to have him as our dive master today. We went to a couple sites… shore reef dive and a wreck. Both times he observed conditions to make sure it was good before we went in. The whole staff at the shop was also lovely. So kind and helpful. The meal was also fantastic. And good quality equipment. Wetsuits were great. I usually get cold on dives but felt warm and comfortable the entire time. If you are in South Africa, Pisces Divers has my recommendation-100%, 5 stars!
