Your freediving adventure begins here. PADI Freediver course starts with PADI’s online eLearning theory training. Then we move to the pool to practice your new skills. Finally, you will experience two open water (ocean/lake) training dive sessions.
The PADI Freediver course will introduce you to the four main disciplines in freediving including static apnea (holding your breath while still in water), dynamic apnea (holding your breath while swimming horizontally in order to achieve distance), free immersion (pulling oneself down a guideline to depth), and constant weight (diving down to depth).
To enrol in a PADI Freediver course:
You must be over 10 years of age
You must have adequate swimming skills
You need to be in good physical health
You do not need any prior freediving experience
The PADI Freediver course takes two days and is run throughout the year
With our onsite pool, easy access to our local dive sites in Simonstown and full in house facilities including a coffee shop, spacious class room and warm shower completing your Freediver course couldn’t be easier.

ITINERARY
This is a two day course. The days start at 08:30 and end between 15:30 and 16:30.
- Day one: Theory reviews and knowledge development. We will get you set up with your equipment and spend part of the day in our onsite swimming pool where you and your instructor will go through skills required to become a successful freediver.
- Day two: You and your instructor will head out to one of our local dive sites and complete two open water freedive sessions.
