Our Cape Fur seals are a treat to snorkel with – these intelligent and agile marine mammals will amaze you with their aquatic abilities. They readily interact with snorkelers and divers and will swim right up to you while staring at you and twitching their whiskers. They often loll at the surface while resting between bouts of high speed underwater manoeuvres.
Snorkelling with Cape Fur Seals has become a very popular marine adventure activity in Cape Town – mainly focused in Hout Bay where there can be several seal snorkelling boats at Duiker Island at any one time. Pisces Divers prefer to snorkel at the seal haul-out at Partridge Point in False Bay – where we are typically the only boat there. Also: the water is warmer than Hout Bay and the reef at Partridge Point is superb for scuba diving if you have a mixed group of snorkelers and divers. Three good reasons to seal snorkel with us!
