This weekend is in stark contrast to last weekend’s mild and sunny weather! There is a serious storm bearing down on the Cape and we are anticipating some huge swell and gale force winds. I think the prudent thing to do is find a warm place with cold beer to watch the rugby on Saturday morning! There are whales all over the place this morning, with a couple seen right off Long Beach.
I also wanted to send out a reminder about the International Coastal Clean-up which will be taking place at Simonstown Yacht Club on 21st September between 0900 and 1200. This year FBUC, OMSAC and UCTUC will join forces for the clean-up and there should be a large number of divers down at the yacht club getting stuck in. Registration starts at 0800 and Pisces Divers will sponsor air-fills for divers who have taken part in the event. We will also have our boat down at the club and will plan at least two launches, so save a bit of energy for after the clean-up (and to rinse off your wetsuit!)

Launches for the Weekend:
No launches this weekend due to the storm!
After briefly basking in the glow of working flush toilets, Neil has refocused on the pool! We experienced a strong sense of déjà vu while it is being dug out again – at least it was a bit easier than the first time. Our objective is to have the pool completed by our IDC program which starts on the 20th October, but it’s going to be tight!
Here we go again!
