Maldives trip 2015 - piscesdivers.co.za

Pisces News: 12th March 2015

It seems we finally have a bit of a break from the relentless SE! Aside from a little bit tomorrow, the wind is very low for the weekend and the swell is tiny. We are heading out on Friday,Saturday and Sunday this weekend, so come and join us…

On Saturday evening we say to goodbye to Carel van der Colff, our head instructor for the last two and a half years. We will be having a braai at Pisces to send him off and all are welcome to pop in, even if just for a quick drink. We will be kicking off proceedings at around 6pm. Carel has been a great asset to Pisces and we will miss his cheerful presence and passion for all things diving (particularly the small critters!) We wish him all the best for his future endeavours!

We also welcome Ryan Burchell to the team. Ryan is well-known to the Cape Town dive industry, having trained and worked at the old Scuba Shack and more recently for Down South Scuba. He had a brief foray into the dark side – aka the corporate world – but saw the light and is back in his suit (wetsuit, that is!) Welcome, Ryan!

No pics of local waters this week in the dodgy vis, as I am trying to tempt you to pack your dive bag and join us on one of our upcoming adventures. See our three offerings below!

Maldives:

We are getting ready to head off to the Maldives for the first time and I can’t wait to dive in this destination which will be a first for me!

We have sadly had a last-minute cancellation by two of the group and we are putting it out there, even at this late stage! Anyone keen to join this fantastic trip, please email or call me directly!! We have a double cabin available for two divers.

Sodwana Bay Trip/ Shootout:

Pisces Divers in conjunction with Ikelite will be leading a group trip to Sodwana Bay for this year’s Sodwana Shootout in early October. We will be hosted at Triton Dive Lodge. This is an ideal opportunity for a new or novice underwater photographer in that we will include workshops prior to the trip to get the correct equipment set-up as well as expert dive guiding with Eve from Triton while we are up there, to maximise opportunities to get the best shots possible and have a stab at some of the fantastic prizes on offer. There is a large social component to the Shootout, with live bands and lots of other social events over the dates of the Shootout, which are 5-10 October. We will fly to Durban and hire a Quantum from there to get our group up to Sodwana and back. Please let me know if you are interested!
